Straight-type battery boots prevent shocks, shorts, and corrosion. This boot is typically used to cover battery posts. Straight-type boots offer protection for continuously energized parts. To use, start by disconnecting the point you would like to cover. Next, slide the straight-type boot over the existing cable and connection point. After you reconnect the cable, pull the straight-type boot into place. Make sure to totally cover the connection point.
