What are Contura mounting panels?
Contura mounting panels are small, inter-linking panel pieces that can be used to create a custom panel. They are specifically designed to hold Contura rocker switch bodies perfectly. They can handle most industry-standard switch bodies as well. So how do they work? Contura mounting panels easily click together allowing you the freedom to create a panel as long or as short as you need. Need a longer panel? Add another middle mounting panel. Need it shorter? Take one out. If you need to fill one of the holes for any reason, simply use the hole plug. You see, when designing these mounting panel pieces, they considered just about every aspect you can think of in order to create the most functional, high-quality panel solution possible.

Where are these products implemented?
Mounting panels allow you to build your own custom panels
Contura mounting panels are implemented in applications where a customizable panel is needed. This is why we offer such a range of panel types. So that our partners and customers can find the exact type needed. These mounting panels are ideal for new installations and even when replacing parts. Say you have dented panels or scratched panels. Then these are the ideal solution for you. All you will need are the proper breakers and switches. Now that we have covered where these products are implemented, let us look at what types of mounting panels are available.
What types of mounting panels are available?
We currently offer four different types of mounting panels as well as a durable neoprene seal (which is optional but recommended). We offer the end mounting panel, the middle mounting panel, the single mounting panel, and the hole plug. You would use the end mounting panel on both sides of your custom panel and add as many middle mounting panels as your project needs. So, if you need a panel to hold five rocker switches, then you would use two end mounting panels and three middle mounting panels. The single mounting panel is for situations where you only need to install a single switch. Finally, the hole plug would be used to occupy a mounting panel where you are not ready to install the switch just yet. Together, these mounting panels can be used just about anywhere.
Where would I use Contura mounting panels?
One of the best aspects of Contura mounting panels is the fact that they can be used in any environment that a Contura switch body can handle. That is to say that if you can use a Contura switch somewhere, then you can use these mounting panels there as well. You will commonly find them on dashboards, panels, electrical boxes, and numerous other locations. This is why they are used in marinas, repair shops, private garages, and even on industrial job sites. People choose to use Contura mounting panels because of the protections that they offer.
What protections does the switch seal offer?
Contura mounting panels are built to withstand exposure to moisture as well as dust when used with a neoprene seal. These protections ensure that your electrical connections are safeguarded from premature failure due to exposure. This way you can install your switches into your new Contura mounting panels and leave them knowing that they will be protected long term. Once you install your switches and switch covers, remember to use a switch cover removal tool to prevent any unnecessary damage to the switch body or the mounting panel.
How do I use the switch cover removal tool?
Using the switch cover removal tool is easier than you may think as it makes the whole process a breeze. To use, simply slide the tool under the switch cover with your thumb over the switch cover and press in. The cover easily pops right out so a new one can snap-in. If you forget to place your thumb over the existing switch cover when removing it, it can potentially pop off meaning you may have to hunt it down. Nevertheless, the Contura switch cover removal tool is essential as it removes the risk of accidental damage to the switch body, the switch cover, or the panel itself. That is why we highly recommend using one.
What industries use Contura mounting panels?
Contura mounting panels are found in numerous industries all across the world. This is due to the fact that they are easy to install, maintain, and repair as well as the fact that they are built to last. You will find Contura mounting panels in use in the marine industry, the communication industry, the database industry, the aviation industry, and many more. Think about it.
