Magnetic circuit breakers are affected strictly by current and not by temperature, which separates them from thermal breakers. In order to make these breakers as safe as possible, they cannot be forcibly held on. As the current exceeds the amount specified by the breaker, the circuit will open. This is one of the many reasons that these breakers are so popular. Look at the chart above to see the interrupting capacity. Selecting the correct magnetic breaker for your application is not an easy task. Contact a Pacer expert today.
