Where are terminal kits implemented?
Terminal Kits are implemented in multiple industries
Terminal kits are implemented in field service applications where a multitude of terminals are needed to be on hand. This makes them perfect for both new installations and when replacing older installations. They carry several types of crimp connectors. So if you are dealing with faded terminals, cracked terminals, or otherwise damaged terminals, then terminal kits are the ideal solution. You will need to use the proper tools when using terminal kits.
What type of terminals are available in terminal kits?
As stated above, Pacer terminal kits come with both ring terminals and butt splices. The ring terminals available include stud sizes #8, #10, 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8". These ring terminals will cover the vast majority of applications you will run into on a daily basis. The butt splices in our terminal kits come ready to handle 22 AWG - 18 AWG, 16 AWG - 14 AWG, or 12 AWG - 10 AWG wires. So, you can see that our terminal kits come with all the terminals you can need to get the most common applications completed quickly. With these electrical wire connectors handy, you are sure to handle projects quicker.

What types of insulation are available?
When it comes to Pacer terminal kits, they are available in both nylon and heat shrink insulation to handle most jobs while offering high levels of protection. All out heat shrink insulated terminals carry an internal epoxy lining that melts to create an environmental seal, which will protect connections against corrosion and moisture. Our terminal kits also come with a reusable and durable case. That way, even when you use the wire connectors, you can reuse the case.

Is the case reusable?
Absolutely! The case is ideal for field service as it protects the terminals and keeps them separated by their terminal type and size. The case can be refilled or reused for another purpose. It is useful for separating small parts just like terminals. Some of our customers use the cases for other applications once the terminals have been used up. The bottom line is that the case itself is durable and reusable.
What tools work with these terminals?
The type of tools to use with ring terminals and buttsplices is actually the same type, that being a crimping tool. The VTTR50 is a solid choice for both the nylon insulation and the heat shrink insulation and works on both ring terminals as well as butt splices. Its ratcheting action makes it the best choice as it is ideal for use in the field, garage, or any location. Another solid choice is the VT3120CT. This tool also offers a ratcheting action that cannot be matched. These tools are designed for use on production lines, in repair shops, or anywhere ring terminals or butt splices need to be crimped.
