What are compression seal connectors?
Compression seal connectors are a type of connector that creates a permanent 360° seal. They are attached using a compression tool and include connectors such as BNC series or RCA series connectors. Compression seal connectors are known for durability and longevity and are built to handle some of the toughest environments out there. Pacer compression seal connectors are for use on RG59, RG6, and LMR-240 cables. Our compression seal connectors are made of machined annealed brass. That brass is then covered with an anti-corrosion nickel-plated finish. This finish allows for maximum conductivity and reliability.

Properly Installing Coax Connectors
Properly installing coax connectors is a simple task with the proper tools. We’ll start by measuring the cable to the proper length making sure to add at least an extra inch. After cutting the cable, we need to get past the insulation and the dielectric material. For this, we’ll use our ring slit tool. By looking at the blade we can see this tool cuts both the insulation and dielectric material at the same time. As we work the tool around, you will feel the insulation give. By pulling the tool away, we remove both the outer insulation and the dielectric material without damaging the internal shield. This tool works with Cat cable as well as multiple styles of coaxial cable. Now we’ll place the connector over the stripped cable making sure we can see the central conductor past the top. After adjusting our tool to the proper compression level, we’ll place the connector and cable into the tool. By fully closing the tool, we have created a permanent 360-degree seal. This tool works with R/A, F, and RCA-type connectors. Its ratcheting action makes the tool easier to use
Where are compression seal connectors implemented?
Coax connectors, built for durability
Compression seal connectors are implemented in communication transmission applications where a permanent seal is the preferred method of connection. Ideal for new installs, Pacer compression seal connectors are equally useful when replacing existing connectors. All these connectors are designed with longevity in mind. We also offer the proper tools and other connectors that you may find useful. Now that we have covered the basics, let us take a look at what types of compression seal connectors are available.
What types of compression seal connectors are available?
Pacer offers RCA series, BNC series, and female compression seal connectors. Each of these types of connectors is designed for use with either a specific type of cable or application. Below we will take a brief look at each of the different types of compression seal connectors that we offer.
BNC connectors
BNC connectors are often referred to as connect-tight or connect-tight connectors. They are known for their twist-type connection method and snug fit. BNC connectors work best with a cable diameter of 0.240”, making them ideal for use with RG6, RG59, and LMR-240. These connectors are commonly used with two-way communications, WLAN connections, and CB radio. Annealed brass bodies and anti-corrosion nickel plating ensure high conductivity.
Female compression connectors
Female compression seal connectors are often chosen for their simple twist-on method, making them a secure solution even in environments where vibration and flux are issues. They are for use with RG6, RG59, and LMR-240 coax cable making them ideal for a wide range of applications. It is important to pay attention to the type of female compression seal connectors, as there are several types depending on the type of cable you are connecting.
What separates compression seal connectors from other types of connectors?
The major distinction between compression seal connectors and other types of connectors is that compression seal connectors create that permanent 360° seal we mentioned earlier. This permanent seal is of higher durability than that of an average connector type. Compression seal connectors also require specific tools in order to be properly applied to a cable.
What tools should I use with compression seal connectors?
Many of our compression seal connectors are perfect for use with our VTCL-4080 compression tool.
Just as the name implies, this tool is ideal for use with compression seal connectors and offers the exact amount of crimp pressure every time. This ratcheting one-hand tool has an adjustment knob so that multiple connectors can be used in quick succession. The best part about this tool is its durable design, making it ideal for field service.
What advantages do compression seal connectors offer?
Compression seal connectors offer a permanent connection solution for a wide range of applications. They are known for their longevity and durability, making them ideal for use in marine environments. Aside from their permanent connection, longevity, and durability in tough environments, compression seal connectors are additionally known for their versatility. These factors combine to create a trusted solution for radiofrequency connection issues.

Do compression seal connectors create a permanent connection?
As we mentioned above, compression seal connectors do in fact create permanent, long-lasting connections that are designed for longevity. We mention it again, as it is one of the most important considerations when looking at connectors. Oftentimes, these types of connectors are placed in harsh conditions where a permanent connection that will not loosen over time is required. This is just one of the many reasons that these connectors are so popular in so many industries.
