Choosing the Right Switch Covers

Choosing the right switch covers

What types of switch covers does Pacer offer?

All Pacer switch covers fall into one of two categories: "blank" or "etched." This difference goes beyond the outer appearance. The etched variety is made from a different base material, but more about that later on. For now, let's start by looking at our blank switch covers.

Blank switch covers

Pacer carries three styles of Contura switch covers to match just about any need. As you will see below, these styles are known as Type II, Type III, and Type V and are chosen for their simplicity and elegance.

Type II covers

Type II (ES)

Type II Contura switch covers are made in a rectangular shape, creating a geometric feel. Each switch cover carries raised bumps on the upper and lower sections, giving a clean and elegant look to the switch cover itself.

Type III covers

Type III (EC)

Type III Contura switch covers are designed with three rows of bars that run across the top as well as the bottom of the switch cover. The bars are recessed into the switch cover body and are meant to convey a modern, yet futuristic, look and feel.

Type V covers

Type V (EV)

Type V Contura switch covers are built with symmetrically curved edges, giving a more organic, natural feel to the visual presentation. Their surface is built to be smooth and clean, further lending to the organic feel.

Etched switch covers

Pacer offers laser-etched switch covers, which provide a level of clarity and quality other options cannot match. A permanent marking solution that is ideal for low-light visibility, etched covers will not fade, peel, or chip. These are currently available in one-bulb or two-bulb options.

Unetched covers

No Bulb

This type of etched cover does not illuminate, as it has no etching. Currently unavailable, these unetched switch covers are useful as placeholders or to indicate an unused switch location.

One blub etched covers

One Bulb

When a switch on has two positions (i.e., on and off), there is no need for a second source of illumination. These covers are just as durable as their two-bulb counterparts.

Two bulb etched covers

Two Bulbs

This is the etched switch cover you want when a switch has more than two positions (i.e., on-off-on). The two distinct bulbs indicate which state the switch is in.
